You probably observed enough successful entrepreneurs and could
easily conclude that their key success factors are not many.... perhaps just
one.... and that is.... they don’t quit...not even once!
Most of my close friends know that I am a keen follower of the
Buddhist teachings, and personally consider rejections as my "lucky
amulets" from the enlightened beings. What do I mean by that... You might
wonder!
I knew and believe there is always a lesson for me to takeaway
from these "lucky amulets" so that I could be stronger and
smarter.....I am so lucky to be part of these and that really is my motivation
to move on!
It was those "lucky amulets" that have manifested over
my life thus far that have presented to all of you.... who I am, and who you
see and feel today. This is the Winston or the Ivan you know....haha having a
long beautiful name is also a blessing too!
I might not be an entrepreneur in the past, but in the corporate
world I am considered a successful "Worker" compared to many
individuals my age and background, and to many.... i am their admiration!
Noticed I used the word "Worker" and not Professional
or Executive.... good catch.... yes no matter how successful an Executive or
Professional I was, I was really just a WORKER then...such a shame.... isn’t
it!
Throwing back, I was really tired with the Corporate world in
the beginning of 2014, and had been actively looking for a business plan that I
could embarked on since.
"To obtain financial freedom, one must be either a business
owner, an investor, or both generating passive income, particularly on a
monthly basis." – Robert Kiyosaki
After months of my own research, in March 2014, I found Market
America and Shop.com and did my "corporate trained" due diligence of
the company and wow.... Shop.com is really what I wanted.
My friends who know me well also will quickly tell you that i am
a firm believer of destiny.
Destiny brought me to link up with my Taiwan friend Jason in
April 2014, who miraculously happens to be also in the Shop.com business, and
needless to say, we became business partners since.
Talking to people seems to many of my friends as my assets, but
unknown to many it is also my secret liabilities. Haha...now I let the cat out
of my bag!
This is because I am really an Introvert rather than an
Extrovert that some of you might think I am. Most of my close friends would
also recall that when they first knew me, their opinion of me was that I wasn't
friendly and in fact rather "Cold". So this obviously also became my
biggest roadblock in the Shop.com business.
I didn’t give up when I am confronted with rejections of any
degree when I pitched about the Unfranchise Business Plan. It is this single
attitude that got me my seat of the Executive Coordinator after 5 months in the
business. Not a very "amazingly quick race" compared to many of my
other business partners who are more successful in this business, but I am
proud to have a team of 15 members in Singapore and many more in Taiwan
standing behind me today.
Thanks to all my business partners, without you I am nothing.
So to sum it all up, I know who to look for in this business:
the people who know how to pick themselves back up quickly and steadily.
My favorite entrepreneurs in Shop.com that I have met so far,
all have had the same spirit, the same gumption, to keep going after what they
believed in, even in the face of tremendous personal and professional obstacles....
to be the successful sg.shop.com/InfoTOUCH owner
you see today.
So are you the one I am looking for?
"The reason you become an entrepreneur is to be in control
of your life. YOU are the boss. YOU write your schedule. YOU make the
decisions. And YOU reap the lessons, as well as the rewards."
